Gyotaku<\/FONT><\/I> - Gyotaku is the ancient Japanese art of Fish pressing.  Gyo means fish, and taku is rubbing.  This Hawaiian adaptation is produced exclusively by island artist Michael Hemperly.  His technique features schools of local fish in a myriad of iridescent colors.<\/FONT><\/STRONG><\/P><\/TD><\/TR>\n

Ilona is best known for her pen, ink and watercolors of North Shore, Oahu landmarks like Waimea Bay. She also is the author and illustrator of a children\'s book titled, \"Kite Island\", that was published in 1993. Ilona has published several pen & ink sketchbooks documenting the old buildings and history of the North Shore area, also known as the \"Seven Mile Miracle\". She has done commissioned work as well and was the artist for the 2006 Kokua Festival Poster. She also enjoys teaching children\'s art classes in Sunset Beach.<\/FONT><\/B><\/P><\/DD><\/DL>\n
